To some, moving to an English speaking country sounds pretty easy. Not when you’re an American moving to England, and words can have such different meanings. I’ve had more than my fair share of face palm moments, so thought I’d share a few for this months Lost in Translation travel link up with Emma, Kelly, Rebecca and Sam.
One would think having an English boyfriend would have its advantages, in he would try to combat embarrassing moments by filling his wonderful American girlfriend in on the fact that words she knows aren’t the same in England. Not the case. He just thinks its really funny.
Cats cats cats! I just love that picture of them looking like Jack is giving Crash a back massage. What you are not seeing is the “I just realised you were there, go away” pats he was actually giving him. So the internet was filled with Pancake pictures on Tuesday but I forgot to take one/was too busy eating pancakes so took one of the cat looking unimpressed. I did however have three blueberry ones leftover that I reheated for breakfast the next day. That’s what I call a win.CONTINUE READING

I’ve got all my Christmas shopping done! At least I think I do. Which means this weekend I can make and decorate Christmas cookies, which eating them is my favourite part of the lead up to Christmas. Not the decorating part though, that’s a pain in the butt. I get icing absolutely everywhere and always have grand amazingly decorated cookie visions that never become a reality. As long as they taste good that’s what matters is what I have to tell myself every year. CONTINUE READING
I’m well and truly on the Christmas bandwagon now that the house is decorated. I can’t get enough of all things Christmas. Give me mulled wine and all the decorations. We went and got our tree Monday night, but didn’t get it up until Wednesday due to a couple tree stand mishaps. Don’t leave your tree stand to the elements, it will rust and become unusable.
