Day Tripping :: Harry Potter Studio Tour

March 17, 2015

So I know we went on the Harry Potter Studio tour just after Christmas, but I couldn’t not share some snaps and our experience. Since my momma was visiting, we decided to visit with her as she’s as big a Harry Potter fanatic as I am. Adam has only seen a couple of movies and never read the books (horror!) but he liked it as well.CONTINUE READING

What do you do when the sun is out in England? Head to the seaside! (and say a little thanks to the clouds above). So we headed to Whitby last weekend, took a boat trip on our favourite boat, and strolled around in the sunshine. CONTINUE READING

Day Tripping :: Doncaster Beer Festival

May 1, 2014

Saturday we decided to have a day trip in the city we live in and attend the Doncaster Beer Festival. We’ve missed this the past couple of years because of things going on, so needless to say I made sure we put it on the calendar and kept the day free.

April 24, 2014

I mentioned in my last post, that after we had toured Sudbury Hall, we headed next door on the grounds to the Museum of Childhood. I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised with the interesting history of toys through the ages, and recognising a few of my favourites. CONTINUE READING

I will dream of the garlic mashed potatoes and truffle mac and cheese until I have them again. Everything was delicious except the sticky toffee pudding wasn’t anything to write home about, so grab the creme brûlée instead. Go with a friend who will share so you can try more dishes!

So this Christmas season was a pretty special one but also draining as there’s so many emotions swirling round this time of year that no one talks about.

Here’s to more adventures in 2023 and hopefully some more calm moments!
