About Me

My name is Dannielle and I’m from New York (“not the city” *which has become my mantra*).
Instead of asphalt and skyscrapers think lakes and grapes.
I currently live in England with my boyfriend Adam and our two cats Jack and Crash, where it seems as though I’m starting my life over. I’ve been here for two years now, and I’m finally feeling like I actually live here. Moving here meant settling somewhere for the first time since I left University in 2007. Since meeting Adam in my last year of Uni, we’ve been traveling ever since – living in the U.K for a short time, moving to America for a while, living and traveling in New Zealand for a year, then finally settling in the UK in the Fall of 2010.
Now that we are here we can finally accumulate things, furniture, dishes, more shoes than is recommended, makeup, and a mountain of cat toys (I don’t know why we bother, they like string and plastic bags). I am a lover of all things sparkly, coffee, shoes, animals, adventures, and am pretty easily pleased by the little things in life. This blog is about what’s been going on-what I’m doing, what I’m into, life in a new country, and everything in-between. I will hopefully clue you in on some nice places to go in England that you may not have been aware of, and will hopefully continue to work on my photography skills by doing so.

You will also probably see a ton of cat pictures. I can’t help it, our cats are amazingly cute.

I will dream of the garlic mashed potatoes and truffle mac and cheese until I have them again. Everything was delicious except the sticky toffee pudding wasn’t anything to write home about, so grab the creme brûlée instead. Go with a friend who will share so you can try more dishes!

So this Christmas season was a pretty special one but also draining as there’s so many emotions swirling round this time of year that no one talks about.

Here’s to more adventures in 2023 and hopefully some more calm moments!
