Last Friday we decided to drive to the Lake District to soak up some sun, which is pretty rare around those parts I’m told. It was my first trip and Adam’s mom suggested Ambleside, a small town at the northern tip of Lake Windermere. It was a pretty place with right along the lake, with mountains as a backdrop. We ate lunch at bar&grill, which since it was nice we took advantage of the outside seating. The flat whites were good and the scones even better. We left full and ready to catch out boat. From Ambleside, there are a few Windermere Lake Cruise options, including a three hour around the lake tour which you can stop off at different points. Since we had limited time, we chose the Green tour that went to Wray Castle and Brockhole. This proved to be a pretty good choice as it allowed us to wander around each stop and get some fantastic views from each, and was a bargain at £7.50.
I’ll show you more of our stop offs next week as there’s too much to say in just one post!
