I know there are ghost tours in pretty much every big town in England, but the first one we went on was in York, and we loved every minute of it. Firstly, wandering around the streets of York by day is a magical thing. All cobbled streets and pretty shop windows. By night, it transforms into dimly lit coves and takes on an eeriness. 
The ghost walk we went on met at the end of the shambles, and from there we were led through the streets, paid our fares and told ghost stories and given crazy looks now and again from out tour guide. It was such a fun way to spend an evening, and as it’s been a few years since we went on this one, I’m ready to go in York again! There are a few different walks, they are all around £5 so you really just need to choose your starting point. It’s always the guides that make these things, and we were extremely lucky with the guy that gave us our tour. He not only told us ghost stories, but stayed in creepy character all night, and had a bit of fun with us as well making us wave to people in a restaurant.Have you ever been on a ghost walk?
