One of my favourite things to do when I visit my grandparents in Oregon is to go crabbing. My last meal would probably be something with crab in it as I love it that much. I don’t know if you have ever tried to go and buy some fresh (or not so fresh) crab, but it’s PRICEY. A crabbing license and some chicken legs to catch your own is cheaper, and a lot more fun.CONTINUE READING

My Papa has been a rancher his whole life, until he and my Nana moved to Eastern Oregon near the coast and he took up cranberry farming. He is the main man running the bogs outside Bandon with his cousins and a few helpers. Since I was little I remember coming to work with him on our visits to Oregon, stopping off at a diner for breakfast on the way. So I thought I’d share a few pictures, as a lot of people don’t realise where their cranberries come from.
While we were staying at my grandparents in Oregon, my mom’s friend Kathy and her son came to visit and stay a couple days. We took them to see my Papa’s cranberry bogs that he runs, and conveniently there was a walk through safari park on the way in Bandon. I’m all over spending the day with animals, especially when I get to pet them.
On our way back from the redwoods, we had planned a stop off overnight in Gold Beach Oregon so we could go on a wilderness jet boat tour. On our way we saw a pretty stretch of beach so we wandered around for a while finding wildlife and soaking in the sea air.
