Make a Statement with Jord Wood Watches

March 21, 2019

I first heard about JORD watches over a year ago when I saw a travel blogger I love, Amanda at Living in Another Language, post about them.  She was working on collaboration with them and it was such a perfect fit as she and her husband loved the outdoors as much as I do. I immediately noticed how pretty the watches were and what a great concept to create them out of wood. So when JORD reached out to me to collaborate, I was all in.

JORD is pronounced “Yode” and is Swedish for ‘Earth, Land or Soil” as the watches are best known for their wood designs. With growth they have now expanded to incorporate metal and other materials to work side by side with the wood. Many of the watches are made with reclaimed wood from furniture or trees that have fallen naturally. Watches are splash proof making them perfect for everyday wear, and come packaged with wood polish and a cloth so you can keep your watch looking great for a long time. What I love about the women’s wood watch I chose, the Frankie ‘Purple Heart’, is that it’s a beautiful shade of plum, is super light, and has a large face – making it a practical watch as well as a stylish accessory. I also like the minimalist face design and sleek profile.

Looking for that unique present for the person who has everything? JORD Wood Watches make a great gift, and you can even get custom engraving on the watch as well as a wooden box to keep it safe when it’s not on a wrist. Although JORD is based in the USA, they offer free shipping worldwide, which I think is a pretty sweet deal. While each country is different and you may have to pay a standard small import duty, this is why they offer free shipping to help offset these costs.Speaking of wood, we’ve just had a new deck done! I’ll properly share it when we get everything put back onto it, like our table and plant pots, but for right now, I’m sooooohappy to have a place to sit outside again. We’re lucky the deck gets the sun the entire day as well, it’s a proper little sun trap. I’m entirely in love with it.

I’m so glad my watch arrived ahead of our upcoming Japan trip; I think it will look gorgeous amongst the cherry blossom trees! Even though the watch is made of natural materials, it’s stylish enough to fit in with any city or country setting. Almost all of my clothes are dark coloured like above, so the purple of the watch will create a nice contrast.

I’ve teamed up with Jord to give you the chance to win $100 towards your own special time piece. All you have to do is click here to enter the watch coupon giveaway and you’ll be notified in a month if you’re the winner. All other entrants will also be emailed a consolation 10% off gift code, so if you want to snag a watch, you can still get some money off if you don’t win.

No it’s not Stonehenge, it’s The Druids temple No it’s not Stonehenge, it’s The Druids temple (or William Danby’s folley) in Ripon. It’s said that wealthy landowner William Danby hired local workers to build this not so prehistorical stone circle to help with unemployment in the area. It’s set on the grounds of Swinton Estate with some walking paths with sweeping views over a reservoir and the valley. There’s also amazingly cute cabins we want to stay in once we are able to again!
