When Chelsea flower show is on, shops and local businesses in Chelsea participate with ‘Chelsea in Bloom’. This years theme was carnival, and while I didn’t get to see the displays around Chelsea, there were some stunning displays in the Great Pavilion at the show.
A separate section saw flowers used in sculptures; cascading down pieces of wood and wound around intricate wire patterns. I almost missed this bit as it was tucked away in a small room but I’m glad I stumbled in as these pieces were so interesting and pretty.
It was hard to pick a favourite, but this jellyfish scene stole the show for me. It was just so whimsical and well executed. I loved the creativity and colour combinations of the sculptures and the headdresses, not to mention the use of so many different flowers and plants to create these creations. Lot’s of talent in the flower world for sure!
