RHS Chelsea Flower Show – Part 2

June 13, 2016

out19Outside the great pavilion at Chelsea Flower Show were sculptures, gardens, grass animals, water features, stalls like John Deere and more. I was drawn to all of the sculptures and wish I had a big country garden to put them all in. A giraffe would be a welcome addition! out18 out17 out20 out20 copy out9 out14 out13 out30 out21 out22 out10 out11I fell in love with these bird feeders in the The Greening Grey Britain garden. The woman telling us about them was lovely and said that her husband is a blacksmith who makes them in West Sussex. When we get our garden a little more sorted out and I’ve got extra money I want to order some. They offer free delivery in mainland UK which sweetens the deal a bit.  out1 out2 out3The field of poppies exhibit designed by Phillip Johnson was incredible. There were close to 300,000 hand crocheted poppies adorning the exhibit as a tribute to those who have served in all wars. out5 out4 out15I wish I’d gotten more photos of the outside gardens, but I was far too busy running around like a child looking at everything. If only I had unlimited funds to fill my garden with all the wonderful summer houses, round huts, sculptures and water features that were on offer at Chelsea.

Sometimes they want nothing to do with each other (well, Claude wants to get away from Remy) so it’s cute when they pal around.

On the opposite side to the amenities at Clumber Park there is a huge woodland with seemingly unlimited different paths you can take. We are so lucky to have this gorgeous place to close by.

Absolutely over the moon with our new kitchen isla Absolutely over the moon with our new kitchen island worktop and tap combo (swipe for the very fiery before). We also got a new bin unit behind it and used the same piece of wood. It just brightens up the kitchen and makes it feel more homey! Now to get rid of that wallpaper...

No it’s not Stonehenge, it’s The Druids temple No it’s not Stonehenge, it’s The Druids temple (or William Danby’s folley) in Ripon. It’s said that wealthy landowner William Danby hired local workers to build this not so prehistorical stone circle to help with unemployment in the area. It’s set on the grounds of Swinton Estate with some walking paths with sweeping views over a reservoir and the valley. There’s also amazingly cute cabins we want to stay in once we are able to again!
