Well I did it, I entered a boxing ring, boxed, and by some miracle actually won! Also miraculously, no injuries, even by my own hand. Didn’t knock myself out (as I almost did several times in training) or fall and break a bone. Success! Overall the Doncaster Ultra White Collar Boxing even raised over £17,500 for Cancer Research UK, and my lovely family, friends and other supporters helped me personally raise £685 for the cause. It was a high like no other and I’m definitely planning on doing it again next year, even with boxing shorts being the most unflattering piece of clothing there ever was.
The rest of my week was filled with not a whole lot as my shoulders recovered but Saturday we headed to London to play the Crystal Maze. At the end of last year Adam found a crowdfunding page trying to get funds together to bring Crystal Maze back, to play but it’s not televised. He swiftly tossed in money for two tickets and I think they reached their goal in a couple weeks. It was that popular. If you’re English you probably have fond memories of watching this game show, but for the rest of us I didn’t really have a clue what it was except it was like the American “Legends of the hidden temple”. You basically complete challenges and win a crystal for each one, then have to collect a whole load of floating golden tickets at the end and out of the teams that play there is a winner, and our team won! A week of victories. Those bomber jackets were hot as hell though, so if you go to play it, wear a tank top underneath! I’m not sure how much longer it will go on, but I think it will be busy for a while, if nothing but people claiming their crowdfunding tickets.
I made easter cookies for my friends who were having charity bake sales at their work and I meant to save some for myself but then completely forgot and packed them all away to give to them. Probably for the best, but they turned out really cute!
For Easter Sunday yesterday we went to Adam’s sisters house for a roast dinner and to collect a million chocolate eggs apparently. I think we’ve got enough chocolate to last us until Christmas because of very generous family members! Our niece Darcey-Grace loooooves having her picture taken and looking at herself on phones and was enthralled for a good 20 minutes with the snapchat animal faces. How to keep a child occupied 101. I’d have been there all day if it was up to her.
It would have been nice to go for a walk or something but between yesterday and today it intermittently downpours and then the sun returns. It’s a bit like playing russion roulette with the rain, will you or won’t you get soaked when you go outside. Does anyone else do any fun Easter things?
