Time is getting away from me in a big way, which seems to be the trend anytime I talk to anyone lately. Adam asked me today what I wanted for my birthday and I was like, “time.” No joke. I thought I’d share a bit about what’s going on lately before it’s next month and I’ve not documented much of this month at all!
We’ve been plugging away at the house and are ALMOST to the point where we won’t have to touch anything for a while. I say almost, but since we still haven’t ordered the banister, we’ll see how many months that will be. I did however start on a gallery wall going up our stairs, and it’s made everything looks so much more homey! Our entryway is all painted, all the skirting boards downstairs have now been glossed, and the house has finally stopped smelling like paint. We’ve got a new window and door coming along as well as the bookshelf of all bookshelves and I can’t freaking wait to just take some finished/semi-finished pictures to show everyone. We got a few friends together and went bowling for the first time in ages last week, which I think I’ve gotten worse if that’s even possible.
We also took a trip to Ikea in an “I need to get out of this house” sort of rage. Are we the only ones that like to take pictures like the set ups are our perfectly put together homes? Ikea also started coming out with some party type bits, and this geometric range is the thing of my dreams. Colours, patterns, yes please.Saturday I ventured over to Leeds for the afternoon for a Murder Mystery dinner and oh my days, so fun! I’ll write about it later, but I will say if you have a chance to go to one, do it. You’ll laugh so much.
When I got back to Doncaster we went to our friends house to have a games night, where I was introduced to Exploding Kittens and a game called Cash and Guns which I excelled at. Top tip – try to keep being the mob boss, lots of perks and you will hardly ever die. The biggest news of the weekend was that it snowed in England! And people collectively lost their shit. As pretty as snow is, I don’t like it unless I don’t have anything to do. Call me a scrooge, but when your birthday parties get cancelled as a child due to snow storms, it’s not your favourite weather condition. All was fine though, I got the train home from Leeds and it didn’t stick around for too long or mess up any plans. Win.
My boxing training starts next Monday, YIKES! That’s come around quickly. I signed up for Ultra White Collar boxing a few months ago where I’ll help raise money for Cancer Research UK. Cancers a big fat jerk that has effected way to many people, so hopefully I can raise a bit of money and not get a black eye in the process.
Because of this I’m back on the healthy eating train and hitting it hard at the gym. I started doing a high intensity type thing on the cross trainer and actually thought I was going to throw up. That would have been embarrassing. I’m slowly getting over feeling like death when I leave and feeling energised instead. Baby steps.
I’ve been loving following Lindsay on Instagram because she’s doing the Whole30 and has given me salad inspiration. She’s also reminded me I love sweet potatoes so I bought a bag of small ones the other day and quickly steam them up for lunch. If you’ve got any great filling salad recipes, send them my way!
