We ordered our third Gousto box last week which if you haven’t heard of them, it’s a food subscription box that sends you recipes and the exact ingredients to make each meal. It’s helped us get back into cooking and try things we never would have thought about making that are actually quite simple and tasty. I think all the meals we’ve had so far have been 40 minutes and under to prepare as well, which is a bonus! If you want to try it out, you can use our code ADAM81511 (it was Adam’s idea to start ordering them) and get up to £25 off your first order, and not gonna lie, it helps us out by giving us a £15 credit. I’m not getting paid to say any of this by the way, I just genuinely like them and we haven’t had a bad meal yet!
Thursday we were feeling too cooped up and had a night out in Doncaster. We met up after work to do a little Christmas shopping and then went to our favourite spot Marketplace Alehouse for some tapas and of course, ale. They had a blueberry one on that I may have had three pints of…and for tapas we opted for beef child nachos, curried new potatoes, shredded pork tacos, and baked brie (which is on their normal menu so you can actually order it anytime). It went in waves of being busy to us being the only ones in there, which just proves not enough people know about it yet! They do amazing sharing boards as well, which is what our usual order is.

Not quite ready to call it a night, we popped into Relish for the last couple hours of their jazz night. We haven’t gone in quite a while, and it reminded us how much we miss it! Another must if you find yourself in Donny on a Thursday night.
Saturday we went through to Sheffield for the day with a good brunch spot in mind. While we did find one, it was a nice spot, and the food was good, there were a couple niggles I had so hopefully they can sort them out soon. Including serving my eggs benedict on a chopping board, which ruined the taste and experience for me, and where I think I might have gotten my bout of food poisoning from. Not naming and shaming though as I’d still willingly go back, but ask for my food on a proper plate.

On a better note we had our first fire since we’ve re-done our fireplace and it is soooo cozy! Not happy about it being freezing temperatures all of a sudden, but I’m ok with fire nights in.
You may have heard, Thursday is Thanksgiving! This will be my 5th annual “friendsgiving” and while I’m disappointed I didn’t find any canned pumpkin this year, when I got all the groceries delivered last night I couldn’t help but get excited! I’ve pretty much got my menu down, so I’m excited for everyone to come over and see the progress we’ve made on the house. We didn’t have time to make our new table yet (oh yeah, we are MAKING a table, and a bench, will see how that one goes) so will have to make do with pushing two together.
What are your Thanksgiving plans?
