Remember me? I’ve been around a little on Instagram and even less so on Twitter, but not on this blog. I just haven’t been able to bring myself to sit down at the computer and edit photos and blog when our house has been in shambles. We’ve been working pretty hard to finally put our stamp on it a year later, and we are also finally seeing results. Hooray! Never undergo major structural work while thinking you can paint/do anything anywhere else. The. dust. never. leaves.We have now almost finished off our dining room and I can’t actually wait to share pictures on here. We even laid the floor ourself! Without crying too much! Success! Since the last time I caught up with you all, we’ve been to Amsterdam, so I thought I’d share some of the pictures from our trip. I decided to not take my digital SLR, and only my phone as a camera. This was a BIG step for me as I don’t often go on so much as a day trip with my camera at my side. However this trip was going to be mainly partying so I decided my phone would suffice. Kicking myself because the weather was gorgeous and the trees were on point, but it’s fine, just another reason to visit again in the fall.

This time around we went to the Rijksmuseum, the most extensive in Amsterdam I believe. I loved it because it was a good mix of artefacts and paintings between rooms, so I didn’t get bored. I get museum-ed out after about an hour if there are only paintings. We were there for a few hours and still only saw less than half! So I’d love to go back.

We took a nighttime canal cruise, and even though I did this the first time we went to Amsterdam, I will always happily get on a boat again and again.
Never thought this sort of picture would end up on my blog…but we went to the sex museum, and when in Amsterdam… The museum itself was actually really interesting, and well worth the four euro entry fee. 
I’ll tell you more about some of our favourite places to eat next week, and about our paddle boat experience. I do have to say as freeing as it was not to be behind my camera all the time on a vacation, I felt a little piece of me was missing. Everyone has a hobby, and mine is taking pictures, even if it means my back aches from lugging a heavy camera around.
