I need a vacation in the woods

October 23, 2015

I’ve been away from this little space for a bit because life has been in upheaval. I am not cut out for construction projects, I have been so stressed out! Organising builders, plumbers, and our amazing friend who is an electrician. I don’t like living in a building site with a thick layer of dust covering everything in the kitchen meaning cooking is out of the question. I need a break!

An e-mail landed in my inbox from Joules about designing a pair of wellies with proceeds going to charity, and the winner gets a luxury break worth £5,000, and one of the options is to stay in a treehouse in the woods. It’s like they can read my mind. I’m designing my wellies right after this post to be in with a chance. If you want to be in with a chance to win, visit their competition page for details and to create your own design.
I absolutely love my Joules wellies (pictured above playing in puddles) so how cool would it be to have a pair designed by me? Very cool, that’s how cool. Even cooler if I could wear them in a treehouse in the woods.
As for me, I’ll hopefully return to blogging and catching up with all of you wonderful people next week. It’s Adam’s birthday this weekend and celebrations start tonight, so the internet will have to wait. I’m sure it will still be here when I get back. See you then!

Sometimes they want nothing to do with each other (well, Claude wants to get away from Remy) so it’s cute when they pal around.

On the opposite side to the amenities at Clumber Park there is a huge woodland with seemingly unlimited different paths you can take. We are so lucky to have this gorgeous place to close by.

We also got a new bin unit behind it and used the same piece of wood. It just brightens up the kitchen and makes it feel more homey! Now to get rid of that wallpaper...

No it’s not Stonehenge, it’s The Druids temple No it’s not Stonehenge, it’s The Druids temple (or William Danby’s folley) in Ripon. It’s said that wealthy landowner William Danby hired local workers to build this not so prehistorical stone circle to help with unemployment in the area. It’s set on the grounds of Swinton Estate with some walking paths with sweeping views over a reservoir and the valley. There’s also amazingly cute cabins we want to stay in once we are able to again!
