They showcase all things New York, food, farming, animals and more, as well as the fairground rides you’ll find at most fairs. The dairy building is always a popular choice, with people waiting to see what the famous butter sculpture will be this year and waiting in line for 25cent cups of milk. Just look at those cheese sculptures! Going to sample the cheese is a must too.

I love going through the animal buildings, and pet quite a few fluffy bunny butts that were stuck out of the cages. Rows and rows of cute bunny, both giant and tiny. This year there weren’t any birds though as there’s a virus going around and they didn’t want any of them getting contaminated/contaminating others.

We watched this guy painting in one of the buildings that sold crafts and other as-seen-on-tv sort of things.
We went into see the flowers, but since we went on the last week of the fair, some were a little worse for wear. Not to mention we couldn’t go into a whole section because the arrangements were being judged.
“Allyson go stand next to that flower so everyone knows how huge it is”
Grandpa and I both made a beeline for the maple section and each handed over our money for a bag of maple candies. There was everything maple you could think of, but I restrained myself on the grounds I didn’t feel like carrying anything around.
While walking to the end of the food section we came across Bandolini, the one man band. He was really entertaining so we stayed for a few songs. You may notice a lot of the older generation in the background, it’s because we came on Seniors day so they got in free. It made for a lot better entertainment though because those Seniors loved to dance! We told my Grandpa to get out there, but he was having none of it. Not all seniors want to dance apparently.

Grandpa needs to work on his selfie game, the sun shining in our eyes probably didn’t help.
This llama promptly spit at a little girl because she got to close to him right after I took this picture. I know better, those animals are not nice.
I wasn’t expecting to go to the Fair while I was home because I thought it wasn’t going to be on while I was still there, but I’m glad my Grandpa likes to go every year so that we could tag along. Not pictures are the giant sausages and numerous fresh lemonades consumed.

Have you ever been to a State Fair before?
