I always seem to pick days where I am around no cellular internet, or as is the case with this particular day, a phone batter at 10% AND no internet in the little town we were hanging out in for a few hours. It’s fine, if I didn’t tell you that, and you don’t follow me on Instagram, then you’d never have known! But I’m too honest for that.
11:00 am :: See that Kerri is participating in a photo an hour on Instagram so I go take a picture of our new yellow wall that I’m unsure of. It’s growing on me, and it’s only small.
12:00 pm :: En route to Bawtry, said internet suck hole. The sun was out and we decided furniture shopping was a better use of our time than doing indoor house things.

2:00 pm :: Finding a steam punk sort of warehouse shop with a small show space, but brilliant Union Jack painted stairs.
3:00 pm :: Tired from all the lack of decision making, we filled ourselves up with a full English breakfast, hash brown and all, at a small cafe in Bawtry and headed back home.
4:00 pm :: On a walk with Leo, Sarah’s dog. I’m going to make her leave and go places more often so I can go and steal him, I really miss having a dog!

5:00 pm :: Back home and it’s time to get progressing on the massive amounts of DIY in our house. First up, mounting the fireplace surround.
6:00 pm :: The f*%&ing surround has finally made it onto the wall. One hour more than it should take anyone to screw in brackets and mount a fireplace surround. If we weren’t having beer later we may have lost the will to live.
7:00 pm :: Print a few more pictures out to add to ones we already had to go in a gallery frame for the bright yellow wall to tone it down a bit.
8:00 pm :: Provisions, sweet sweet provisions. We soon head to Sarah and Carl’s house and I can’t wait the 20 minute walk to get there so have a road beer. Judge away.

9:00 pm :: Beers and the rugby in Sarah’s living room, but her fireplace is much prettier than the rugby game going on.
10:00 pm :: The face of a dog who will never stop trying to get you to throw his ball.
11:00 pm :: In to a game of cards against humanity, a game for horrible people. Also the last photo of the day, I thought it fitting 11-11. Thought I did semi-well there.
I will be so happy when I can stop posting half finished house projects, and can post FINISHED house projects. On the plus side, I did paint the the wall inside of the fireplace surround purple, so at least it looks a little finished, and we hung a painting up. Progress. Now I feel it looks too fancy for our living room though.
If you can’t have a fancy fireplace though, really what is the point of life?
