Life Lately #63

June 4, 2015

We’ve been squeezing so much into life lately that I haven’t had time to think. I did make time to finish a book though, so there’s that. We stopped by Adam’s sisters on Saturday and the whole family was over, so we had a little jump on the trampoline with our nieces. I kind of want one for our own backyard now, but I fear it may get out of hand when we have parties. Adults and alcohol and all that jazz.

Instead of grocery shopping Saturday we decided to pop by Lord Hurst’s for afternoon tea and doggy cuddles. Poor Dexter is really sad as his brother passed away recently. He snuggled in my arms for a good half hour the poor little pup. Sunday was the day we’ve been looking forward to for the past couple of months, we stayed in a castle! Ok, so maybe it was never used in any battles or anything, but I’m going with it. It was pretty cool and a nice chilled out night away. I’ll show you more photos and tell you more about it later.Monday since we took the day off we decided to make a stop off on the way home at a “super secret war bunker” that was signposted pretty well. It’s declassified now, but it used to be a secret! It was really neat seeing all the actual communications devices used during the wars, and get a little fright from the mannequins and flashing lights.

I’ve still not edited my Iceland pictures, I’m just so overwhelmed by the sheer amount I took! Getting there though, so hopefully next week you’ll see some Iceland posts around these parts.

Sometimes they want nothing to do with each other (well, Claude wants to get away from Remy) so it’s cute when they pal around.

On the opposite side to the amenities at Clumber Park there is a huge woodland with seemingly unlimited different paths you can take. We are so lucky to have this gorgeous place to close by.

Absolutely over the moon with our new kitchen isla Absolutely over the moon with our new kitchen island worktop and tap combo (swipe for the very fiery before). We also got a new bin unit behind it and used the same piece of wood. It just brightens up the kitchen and makes it feel more homey! Now to get rid of that wallpaper...

No it’s not Stonehenge, it’s The Druids temple No it’s not Stonehenge, it’s The Druids temple (or William Danby’s folley) in Ripon. It’s said that wealthy landowner William Danby hired local workers to build this not so prehistorical stone circle to help with unemployment in the area. It’s set on the grounds of Swinton Estate with some walking paths with sweeping views over a reservoir and the valley. There’s also amazingly cute cabins we want to stay in once we are able to again!
