Ambleside is probably one of the most well known towns in the Lake District as it’s at the end of Windermere, it’s really picturesque, and filled with cute shops and cafes. It was raining the day we went around it, and as I wasn’t prepared I had to buy a rain coat first thing. Three of the five of us bought rain coats though, so I wasn’t the only one!We had the most delicious lunch at Sheila’s cafe. I had sea bass and finished off with sticky toffee pudding. I would highly recommend going here if you’re in the area. It’s really nice inside as well.We made a quick stop in Bowness-on-Windermere on the way home to get some lake views, and came across a ton of swans and other birds hanging out on the beach. Sarah was super brave and got right in with them taking pictures. I stuck with the friendly younger one.For more pictures from our Lake District break, you can check out where we stayed, the friendly peacock at Brockwood Hall, and Haverigg Beach.
