Photography Friday #40

March 6, 2015

I missed my life lately post this week, so thought I’d combine a little of what’s been going on with Photography Friday. It’s finally been sunny and warm enough to lay in our big window in the living room. It’s one of my favourite features of our house.Drying out some Valentines day roses.I got to play with and feed our friends puppies last weekend (I say puppies but they are Akitas so even though they are young they are more like bears) so she and her boyfriend kindly got us this orchid to say thanks. Adam and I went to Elsecarr Heritage centre last weekend, mainly to visit the antique market they have there, it’s two floors filled to the brim of absolutely anything you could possibly want. We’ve been after some candle sticks of some sort for the dining room table, and we actually found two different ones! A silver candelabra that I fell in love with, and two gold single ones that Adam liked best. So the obvious answer was to get them both. Adam has been painting most nights and I felt like I wanted to make something to put on our walls, so I  picked some colours, taped off a canvas and voila, easy artwork! I’m no painter but I was pretty pleased with myself. No room on the perfume shelf! I don’t buy all these, but my birthday is so close to Christmas, so I’m all stocked up for the year. It also takes me ages to get through a bottle because I’ve amassed quite the collection.
My hair, sigh. I JUST refreshed it, have washed it twice, and it’s all sorts of cray. Is the ombre look still in? Might have to paint the roots up again this weekend.
Tonight I’m meeting friends and going to see our friend Claire in Hairspray at the local theatre. I love Hairspray so I’m quite excited to see her in it. I’m hoping it’s sunny and warmish this weekend too so I can sort out our back garden. I’m itching for fires and BBQ’s and want to be ready when the warmth strikes!

I will dream of the garlic mashed potatoes and truffle mac and cheese until I have them again. Everything was delicious except the sticky toffee pudding wasn’t anything to write home about, so grab the creme brûlée instead. Go with a friend who will share so you can try more dishes!

So this Christmas season was a pretty special one but also draining as there’s so many emotions swirling round this time of year that no one talks about.

Here’s to more adventures in 2023 and hopefully some more calm moments!
