Life Lately #54

February 23, 2015

Cats cats cats! I just love that picture of them looking like Jack is giving Crash a back massage. What you are not seeing is the “I just realised you were there, go away” pats he was actually giving him. So the internet was filled with Pancake pictures on Tuesday but I forgot to take one/was too busy eating pancakes so took one of the cat looking unimpressed. I did however have three blueberry ones leftover that I reheated for breakfast the next day. That’s what I call a win.Friday night we went over to babysit our niece for a few hours, and she was in rare form as usual. She absolutely loves seeing herself on any device, and makes faces at the camera when you’re taking pictures, too cute. George got in on the action as well as you can see. Then they swapped and went over to crawl all over Adam. You can also see how badly my roots were coming in, I was waiting till I absolutely couldn’t stand to look at myself anymore to do my hair to give it a rest, and that came on Sunday, so refreshed hair it is now thankfully.
The postman kindly delivered the Hotel Chocolate easter catalogue, so I was drooling over all the easter egg options. Anyone that has a spare £75 going that wants to buy me the Ostrich egg, greatly appreciated.
Since we bought blueberries for pancakes, I made blueberry oatmeal loads last week. Exciting things as usual.
I dried a couple of roses that were especially pretty from my birthday bouquet Adam’s dad kindly gave me, and now they have a new spot on my desk. I love the look of dried flowers.
Saturday it was sunny for a change, and Adam and I were itching to go exploring somewhere, anywhere. I looked up National Trust properties within two hours of our house, and we decided on Tattershall Castle, because, well, castle! It was nice to get back out and learn some things, but oh man was it cold. Don’t go to a cold ruiney castle when it’s cold, wait till it gets warmer.Sunday night Adam had gotten us tickets to go see Paul Foot, and English comedian that I didn’t know much about but that I’d remembered seeing on the comedy chat and quiz shows. He was so funny though, I’d totally go see him again! The end of the show was hilarious, as it never really properly ended because he kind of kept coming back to the microphone to say things, and he just seemed to kind of awkwardly be like, “seriously, this has to end now, no more, start leaving”. We waited in line for Adam to get a CD and got a picture with him and he was just cracking jokes the whole time. Such a good ending to the weekend. It did make getting up this morning a lot harder though knowing it was Monday again.

Sometimes they want nothing to do with each other (well, Claude wants to get away from Remy) so it’s cute when they pal around.

On the opposite side to the amenities at Clumber Park there is a huge woodland with seemingly unlimited different paths you can take. We are so lucky to have this gorgeous place to close by.

Absolutely over the moon with our new kitchen isla Absolutely over the moon with our new kitchen island worktop and tap combo (swipe for the very fiery before). We also got a new bin unit behind it and used the same piece of wood. It just brightens up the kitchen and makes it feel more homey! Now to get rid of that wallpaper...

No it’s not Stonehenge, it’s The Druids temple No it’s not Stonehenge, it’s The Druids temple (or William Danby’s folley) in Ripon. It’s said that wealthy landowner William Danby hired local workers to build this not so prehistorical stone circle to help with unemployment in the area. It’s set on the grounds of Swinton Estate with some walking paths with sweeping views over a reservoir and the valley. There’s also amazingly cute cabins we want to stay in once we are able to again!
