My favourites of the day had to be these little fairies, called Brain’s Faeries and lovingly created by Samantha Bryan. After getting really excited about them when we first arrived, at the end of the day I asked a woman if I could pet her cute golden retriever. We got to talking and she mentioned that her son’s girlfriend had an installation here, and it turned out they were these fairies! Small world. I also fell in love with the illustrations by Tom Frost, but sadly they were a little out of my price range to take any home.
Most of the day was spent trying to find this chapel, which we found eventually after taking a very roundabout way. Adam had heard that an artist by the name of Ai Weiwei had some installations in the chapel, and had heard of him so wanted to see what was there. No pictures inside the chapel allowed so you’ll have to go see for yourself if you’d like. The Iron tree was really cool, and was cast from bits of real trees so it looked surprisingly real.
