Some of you may or may not know, but I went camping in Wales last weekend for the three day weekend with my friends Fran and Helen. We drove the four hours it took to get to our campsite in Snowdonia, passing through some of the prettiest areas in Derbyshire along the way. Here’s a few snaps before I tell you/show you more of what we got up to.Since we arrived at night, the next day was our first proper glimpse of Wales, and oh man, it’s a beauty. Harlech was the first little town we went to from our campsite on Shell Island. If you make it to Harlech, go to this ice cream place! I opted for a waffle cone and couldn’t choose just one flavour so had a scoop of honey along with a scoop of lemon meringue. It was delicious. All the ice cream is made by them, and if you’re after a particular flavour and know you’ll be passing through, the owner told us to let them know the week before and they will make it! Hows that for service? Porthmadog was a cute town where we caught the steam train on the Sunday. We had a nice wander around Saturday though along the water and popping in and out of shops. I got the cutest prints from there as well. Sunday we drove to about an hour away to try to go on the Snowdon railway, but it was unfortunately fully booked. Fortunately for us though we hadn’t called ahead and got to see the amazing views above, so all was not lost. I’ve got soooo much to tell you about our trip! We fit a lot in that’s for sure. We camped in the prettiest spot, roamed around a castle, rode on a steam train, saw Gellert’s grave, and went in a slate mine. I took enough pictures to fill two albums. I definitely can’t fit it all into one post, so more to come!
