So I’ve done loads this week, but mostly left my phone firmly in my bag. Be present and all that jazz. Wednesday we went to a circus! Adam’s sister had free tickets so we went. Even though it was geared towards little kids, there were some really cool bits for adults too.
My favourite act was an amazing acrobat guy, who walked the tight rope, did swing tricks, and even hung down from the swing – by his teeth – and then spun like crazy. It was intense and I feared for his life the whole time. It did prompt me too look up Cirque du Soleil tickets though and turns out they are coming to Sheffield, which is about twenty minutes away so we are going to try to get tickets.
Friday I went and met our friends new baby Sophie, who was a week old and so cute. Super proud of them. After that, Fran and I headed to her house and went to a charity horse race night put on by her mom, to help raise money for their theatre company Castaways. It was something different to do and I had a lot of fun.
Saturday we went to a beer fest! More on that later in the week, but I’ll just say I am a supreme beer picker, as I loved all the ones I chose to try.
Sunday I went to town and did a little shopping picking up bits I needed and being really good and not getting anything I didn’t need. Then Adam and I went to the cinema to see Divergent. Now, I will tell you I haven’t seen any previews for it, so didn’t know what to expect. I have however just finished the first book and am onto the second, so was excited to see what they did in the movie. I was pretty disappointed to be honest. The movie was good in it’s own right, but I feel like they didn’t do a good enough job developing Tris, one of the main characters. I also felt like they didn’t do a great job of defining the factions and why the groups were split up, and Adam asked me a few questions of things throughout the movie so it goes to show that I think they could have done a bit better. Just my two cents.
Have you seen Divergent or read the books? What were your thoughts?
