Life Lately #24

{Stripes & brogues // Betty’s easter egg // York}
This past week has just been go go go. The weekend wasn’t any slower. We went and spent the day in York Saturday as there was a chocolate and food festival on. I came home with some strange flavour combination chocolate bars, six bottles of craft beer, and a full stomach. {Sausage feast // Yorkminster // Waving queens}
{First fire pit of the year}
Since it was such a nice day Saturday, we decided to have a few people around for our first fire of the year in our fire pit. I found out Tesco carries graham crackers now, so I introduced everyone to s’mores. We then threw last years Christmas tree on the fire to get it going again and I’ve never seen flames go so high so quickly. {Easter flowers // Easter nails // Easter drawing // Easter egg}
Easter Sunday was fairly low key, we slept in quite late since we were up so late around the fire. We then headed to Adam’s mom’s house and she made us a gorgeous Easter dinner and we just sat around and chatted. {New bag // Adam under a tree // Pricker bush mess// The aftermath}
Today was a bank holiday too, and Adam’s mom insisted we take the day off. We were silly and opted to tackle the yard work, with Adam bleaching the stone outside the house and trimming the hedge, and me tackling all the overgrown pricker bushes in the very back of the garden. I feel like I got the worse deal out of work as evidenced by my arm up top. I let loose some pretty colourful choice words chopping and pulling out prickers that then dug into my hands, arms, legs, wherever they could grab me. At least it’s getting there though! A couple more days should have it all sorted out.
Hope everyone’s had a great Easter weekend, how did you celebrate?

I will dream of the garlic mashed potatoes and truffle mac and cheese until I have them again. Everything was delicious except the sticky toffee pudding wasn’t anything to write home about, so grab the creme brûlée instead. Go with a friend who will share so you can try more dishes!

So this Christmas season was a pretty special one but also draining as there’s so many emotions swirling round this time of year that no one talks about.

Here’s to more adventures in 2023 and hopefully some more calm moments!
