I think the kit came with a little black polish and a top coat, but since I wanted to use the darkest of the two glitters, I opted to paint my nails with Nails Inc ‘the thames’. The premise of the kit is that you pour glitter in that little tray, roll your painted nail around in it, and then use the brush to sweep the excess glitter off your hands and around your nails. I can tell you this is messy and doesn’t work that well. You not only get patchy glitteryness (from my experience) but this fine glitter goes EVERYWHERE. I’ve found it best just to apply it with the brush.
After I let the first coat dry, I painted a couple nails, then used the brush supplied to pat some glitter on the top half of my nails. I did this about two nails at a time so the glitter would stick best to the second coat of polish. After I had finished applying the glitter how I wanted, I used a generous dollop of Seche Vite top coat to seal everything in. I could still feel some glitter bumps so followed this with a second coat of Seche Vite. Who knows if that’s allowed, but I’ve never been the best at following rules.
Also, take a look at that background photo blur! I got a new lens in the mail today (a canon 50mm 1.8 if you were wondering) and these were the first pictures I’ve taken with it, so I am still figuring it out.
Have you sparkled up for New Years?
