{Presents under the tree // Crash’s Christmas sitting spot // Presents taking over our spare room // Santa’s sleigh}
It’s almost Christmas! Just in case you didn’t know… so there has been a whole lot of wrapping going on in this house, and is it grinchy to say I can’t wait for it to be over so I can get my house back? It’s wall to wall presents, wrapping paper, and other various Christmassy things. There’s strategic footpaths through the mess, it’s gotten that out of control.

{Christmas crowns at dinner // Poppy kitty // Sack full of presents // A put together Christmas tree}

 Friday night we went to our friend’s Steve and Danielle’s house for a friends Christmas dinner. It was such a nice night filled with great food, company, presents and games. We all brought little gifts for each other to open and it was a great night. The games bit was the funniest, as we learned Adam is a PRO at charades (or so he thinks). He was great at sculpting things out of the play-dough for the sculpting bit of the game though, that artsy boy of mine. Danielle did an amazing job decorating their tree too, it looks professional!{Oreo cheesecakes // Table stars // My dessert bowl}
Danielle is a crafty one in the kitchen and whipped up some delicious oreo cheesecakes for dessert, and added a yule log as well. It would have been rude not to try a bit of both…
This weekend has been pretty laid back, popped into town yesterday for some last minute bits and for Adam to get a haircut. It’s the shortest he’s ever had it I think. Today I’m planning on watching Dexter and getting in lots of kitty snuggles. It’s nice to have a low key weekend every now and again, but I’ve got itchy feet to get some exploring done!
Are you all ready for Christmas?

I will dream of the garlic mashed potatoes and truffle mac and cheese until I have them again. Everything was delicious except the sticky toffee pudding wasn’t anything to write home about, so grab the creme brûlée instead. Go with a friend who will share so you can try more dishes!

So this Christmas season was a pretty special one but also draining as there’s so many emotions swirling round this time of year that no one talks about.

Here’s to more adventures in 2023 and hopefully some more calm moments!
