I love Hallowee, it’s my absolute favourite. Who wouldn’t like to dress up as something you aren’t and collect lots of candy? Too bad adult trick or treaters are frowned upon. I decided to put together a mashup of my costumes from the last few years, and maybe give you some inspiration. I always go for easyish costumes, and always make them with things I find.
Tinkerbell – Junior year in college. Super easy, pinned green fabric around me and had someone help me cut the edges. I also sewed some pom poms on some cheap green glitter shoes I found. My favourite part of the costume? That bad you see around my waist has glitter in it, so I threw it at people all night to help their dreams come true. I like props or things I can play with in a costume. Scottish Golfers – Having a joint or group costume is really fun. My friend Alyssa and I decided to be Scottish golfers, by buying those sweater vest/shirt combos for really cheap, and wrapping some checked fabric into a skirt. We also made pom poms for our flat caps. A kid’s snoopy golf set completed our outfit, and we challenged people to put put competitions the entire night. Probably my most fun costume.Pirate – one of my more boring costumes stemming from lack of time, but I got a little telescope and a sword to play with.
