Even though we had been to Florence before, it’s one of those cities you fall in love with, and can go back to time and time again. Which I’m sure we will at some point. As long as you don’t eat at the really touristy restaurants (the ones in the main squares and with pictures on the menu’s) you can get some great fresh pasta, pizza, seafood and deserts. The food is YUM. There are also some really nice bars tucked along side streets and through little tunnels. And did I mention the gelato? Try it ALL, but my favourite combination was coffee and tiramisu.
After our lunch along the river, we continued into the center to explore and get lost winding through the city streets. We didn’t have anywhere to be which was a great feeling knowing we could just wander and come across things. We went into a few shops, and after dinner even found a cute little bar on a side street with an assortment of stools to sit in the street and have a glass of wine at tiny tables. Perfect.
Have you ever been to Florence? What were some of your favourite places?
