I haven’t done a haul in a while, because as I said, I hadn’t really been buying much. All of this stuff was not bought in the same time, but rather over the last month. I always feel like if I spread my spending out, I don’t feel so guilty! Plus nothing I bought was overly expensive so that’s always a bonus.
That Maybeline mega plush mascara pictured above is absolutely incredible. I will have to take some before and after pics, but one coat and it looks like I’m wearing false eyelashes! The wand is nice and big and super flexible, not sure the flexible thing really matters, I’m not sure what difference it makes! It’s a gel formula, and if this was waterproof it would be my holy grail mascara. As it is, you get your lashes a little wet and this stuff will smudge like crazy. Not one to wear to the gym or in the pool. I haven’t had any problems during the day though with it running or smudging though. The new nail polishes I’ve picked up from Fragrance Direct and the drugstore are Revlon Top Speed colours in ‘Electric’ and ‘Stormy’, Essie ‘Bikini so teeny’ and Barry M confetti nail effects in ‘Dolly Mixture’. I love the formulas of the Revlon Top Speed polishes, and that yellow is the most opaque yellow I’ve ever managed to find! I’m also digging the Barry M confetti, as it’s basically a rip off of the Nails Inc feather effects but at a fraction of the price.I’ve wanted to try these Loreal color infallible pressed pigment eyeshadows for a while, and I picked up some shimmery shades in ‘Forever Pink’ and ‘Permanent Kaki’. They come with little stompers to keep the pigment in it’s little pot and you can press it down to compact it to your liking. The olive green colour is really pretty mixed with some of the browns from my Naked palette and the pink is a nice inner corner highlight. They are incredibly soft and pigmented, and a little goes a long way!I’ve been investing more time into my skincare routine (as in actually developing one) trialing different cleansers, toners, masks and treatments, and from everything I’ve read Clarins has you covered. I’ve wanted to get the cleansing milk and toning lotion for a while, but at £18 a pop, this could become an expensive habit! They have just come out with this gift set though that I nabbed for £18 in the Debenhams 10% off sale, so I got three products for the normal price of one. For that I can give these a whirl! The girl at my local Clarins counter in Debenhams was also kind enough to find me a sample of the Lotus facial oil for me to try so I could make sure there was no adverse reaction to it before shelling out for the big one. I’ve gotta say, I absolutely love it and you only need a few drops each night so my tiny sample will see me through another month probably, so once that runs out I’ll definitely be getting the full size.
Adam wanted to pop into Topshop to have a look at sneakers, and obviously I headed to the jewellery section. They have the best necklaces there, and I found this one all on it’s lonesome for half price. I picked it up for £9, so I was pretty happy about that. This bag purchase stemmed from the fact that I wanted a big cross body bag to house my digital SLR in plus other things for when we go to Italy, and I wanted it to have a zip closure. My go to place for bags is TKMAXX as they have such a variety in one place and they tend to be quite cheap. I picked this bowler-esque bag up for £19, bargain! Adam actually said I shouldn’t get it because it looked too nice. Well duh, I want to have a stylish bag to carry my camera and things in, thats the point of not just using a normal camera bag. I wish I could tell you a brand or something, but I threw out the tag that was on it, and it’s not branded anywhere. This bag is a LOT bigger inside than what I had originally thought, so I’m going to attempt to make a little barrier/divider thing to put in it to help protect my camera from the rest of the contents I throw in. What I like about it is that you can unclip the large shoulder strap and toss it in the bag and carry it around on your arm instead. Multi-purpose! I have been looking for a trilby type summer hat for aaaaaages. I’m so picky. Again, this purchase was the fault of Adam, as he found some nice shoes in Bank. I never really go into Bank for some reason, but I found this hat in the sales for £6 and thought, even if I didn’t absolutely love it, it’s £6! I do like it a lot, but might look for a different coloured ribbon to tie around it.
So there you have it, pretty much my June purchases! There was also some boring things like a new kitchen bits, but I doubt you want to see pictures of my new baking trays and containers. My next haul probably won’t be until I go back to New York in August, I’m setting aside money for things I want to grab while I’m back, thusly not buying so much here.
Do you have any of the same bit’s I’ve picked up? What other colours do you recommend in the Loreal shadows as I want to pick up more of them!
