Being the obsessive Castle goer that I am, we of course had to visit New Zealand’s only castle, Larnach Castle, which is located outside of Dunedin. It was on the smaller scale, and would be along the lines of a small country home by English standards, but it was impressive nonetheless. Inside the castle you could learn about the family history of the people who resided there, and see the grand rooms. My favorite bit? Going up to the top and seeing the views that your rewarded with after climbing the steep little steps. There was also a lovely manicured garden to wander around and a little tea room. I had a little rest in this tree trunk chair before we left too. If you are interested in going you can find out more here, from my perspective, I think it’s well worth a visit and you can make a day out of going.
