Since we don’t have a dog, Laura was more than willing to let us have George for the day which was nice! Most of the sculpture park is dog friendly as it’s a lot of parkland so he had a nice run around. I didn’t take that many pictures of the sculptures because I got quite a few snaps last time I was there, so I might post those sometime in the future when I can figure out a gallery situation. As we were walking along we found some Highland cattle!! I’m absolutely obsessed with them, I love their shaggy fur and like the coppery brown ones most. We then found some alpacas and they were OBSESSED with George. They didn’t want anything to do with us, but they kept staring at him and following him along the fence, whilst he was oblivious to the whole situation. Probably a good thing as he was being on his best behaviour and not barking much.
Saturday Adam and I hijacked his sister’s dog George, picked up our friend Bev, and headed to Yorkshire Sculpture park for the day to take full advantage of the sunshine. We layered up, but with all the walking up and down hills we did, we were in a constant state of taking off our warm clothes and then putting them back on.
All in all it was a great day out in the fresh air. It’s a cheap day out as well as you just have to pay for parking (which is 7.50 per car for the day) and you get run of the park and galleries.
Have you ever been to the sculpture park? and if so do you find the giant rabbits as disturbing as I do?
