Moving to England was challenging in more ways than one-I left behind all of my friends, family, and a job that I had tons of fun at (I used to work at a winery, I grew up in Wine country
At first it was just promotional kind of stuff (I’ve got a degree in marketing/advertising/pr) then since they only have one voice who records their mp3’s, Adam’s mom thought it would be a good idea to have a female american voice, and for me to give it a go. And I really enjoy doing it! It still seems a little strange that people will hear my voice recorded but I still think its pretty neat. I never thought I would be recording hypnotherapy mp3’s when I was creating ad campaigns at University.
I’ve fallen in love with England all over again as well. It’s amazing how much better you feel when you escape difficult situations. Working from home has no doubt been a challenge – no people to talk to all day, staying focused and on task, not leaving the house and feeling trapped, etc. To fix these problems though we joined the gym, go for walks when possible, and try and hang out with friends at least a couple times a week. The boyfriend works out of his moms house as he’s self employed, so he gets fidgety too. Although there are a couple con’s to working from home, the good things outweigh the bad. Flexible-ish hours – want to take a long weekend? Work more hours during the week! For me it’s ideal as well as it means I can go home to New York more often/for longer time periods. I’m doing a spontaneous trip next Friday for a couple weeks and can just take my laptop and recorder and work from there. Smiles all around!
