The boy and I never really celebrate Valentine’s day because we try to do nice things for each other throughout the year, but I must admit I’ve been bitten by the lovebug this year and am feeling the love. I made him a cutesy valentine complete with drawn candy hearts box and stickers, taking me back to the elementary school days of handing out paper valentines. When teachers had everyone give all of their classmates cheap paper valentines (cheap in those days, I’m sure they aren’t now!) with silly messages like “I choo-choose you” with a little train on it. I was a personal fan of the Ninja Turtle variety. The whole point is this made everyone feel special and wanted. It’s the little things you do for people that really count.
Now I’m not entirely sure Adam has ever gotten me flowers for a Valentine’s day (we actually try to keep some fresh cut flowers in the house normally anyway) So I thought it was super cute when I woke up this morning to a card from “a secret admirer” through the post box (written in Adam’s handwriting obviously) and a bouquet full of Daisies, which are my absolute favourite. (A sneaky carnation was in there too, fairly certain that was a happy accident on the florists part.)The boy is also cooking pulled pork for dinner, he knows the way to my heart.
